Objective:To investigate the relationship between the new WHO histolo- gical classification and the incidence of myasthenia gravis, as well as their clinical characteristics and the clinical stage. Methods:According to the new WHO histological classification system, this study collected the 64 cases of thymoma from 1999 to 2008 , summarized whether to be accompanied with myasthenia gravis and the clinic data(such as sex, age, the date in hospital, myasthenic crisis, clinical stage) .To analyse the relationship between histological classification and the incidence of MG, and to both of them with the clinical characteristics and the clinical stage.Results:0 case in type A , 4 cases in type AB , 8 cases in type B1 , 14 cases in type B2 , 10 cases in type B3,12 cases in the thymic carcinomas;Remarkable evidence was found in statistics between Histological classification and MG(P<0.05),the incidence of MG according to histological classification was B2>B3>B1>AB. there were 8 cases in stageâ… , 26 cases in stageâ…¡, 20 cases in stageâ…¢, 10 cases in stageâ…£.WHO histological classification and MG was significantily correlated to clinical stages(P<0.05).Conclusion:There was significant relationship between the histological classification of thymoma and myasthenia gravis, and both of them could reflect the biological behaviors and clinical stages, which could used to evaluate the patients prognosis.
