Expression And Clinical Significances Of Ezrin Protein And CD₄₄V₆ In Osteosarcoma

OBJECTIVE To detect the expressional variability of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ between osteosarcoma and osteochondroma;to explore clinical significance and correlation of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ in osteosarcoma.to present the function of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ during the proceeding of tumor metastasisMETHOD The expression of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ in 36 cases of osteosarcoma and 20 cases of osteochondroma were detected by SP immunohistochemical method,and 36 cases of osteosarcoma were given 3-5 years follow-up.The results were analyzed by SPSS 11.0 statistical analysis package.RESULTS The expression of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ in osteosarcoma doesn't represent statistical significance with age,gender,pathologic types and location(P＞0.05).But the expression of Ezrin represents statistical significance with 3-year metastasis-free(p＜0.05). The difference is significant.The expression of Ezrin is 20 positive cases(accounting 55.56%) in osteosarcoma.The staining locates in cytoplasm and(or) cell membrane.But there is on positive cases in control group,the difference is significant(x²ï¼17.28,p＜0.001 )The expression of CD₄₄V₆ is 26 positive cases(accounting 72.20%) in osteosarcoma.The staining locates mainly in cytoplasm and there are also some extent staining in cell membrane,it represents statistical significance compared with control group(x²ï¼11.60, p＝0.001).In 30 cases of osteosarcoma,18 positive cases are all positive expression of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ and 8 cases are negative.It is confirmed by Spearman rank correlation that the difference is significant(r_s＝0.444,P＝0.007).Conclusion(1) Ezrin may play a role in the development process(such as the metastases process) in osteosarcoma.It is expected to be an indicator to predict whether patients survive three years without metastases.As a result of incomplete follow-up data of this study,we can't make a prediction to the five-year survival without metastasis and long-term survival without metastasis.(2) The relation between the expression of CD₄₄V₆ and the prognoses of osteosarcoma should be made a further discussion (3) The expression of Ezrin and CD₄₄V₆ in osteosarcoma is positively correlated.They both take part in the pathway of signal transduction during the progression of infiltration and metastasis of the tumor cells...
