Acute and chronic injuries of posterior interosseous nerve accounts 7% to 9% in peripheral nervous injuries,and various compressions are major factors to injure posterior interosseous nerve. Rate of missed diagnosis of posterior interosseous nerve compression accounts about 50%,a high percence.it is high frequency of upper limbs movements and anatomical relationships with tissues bordering in its journey that compose the main causes of posterior interosseous nerve injures. This article gives an overview of resserches and literatures these years, and induces awareness and understandings of posterior interosseous nerve injures through its anatomical relationships with tissues bordering,factors of compression, symptoms and physical signs, diagnosis and treatments.
