Boju ,a kind of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. ,is cultivated in Bozhou,a city of Anhui province. From the point of Chinese herbal medicine and the practical application, the boju quality standard was developed, which was based on the relevant state regulations, the literature and experimental results. The main studies are as follows :1.The useful components in boju have been determinated through many references.Among the components,chlorogenic acid,luteolin,apigenin,and flavonoids should be deteminated and proper methods to control these useful components have also been established.Using HPLC to determine chlorogenic acid, luteolin and apigenin while using UV to determine flavonoids .2.Controlling the quality of chlorogenic acid, luteolin,apigenin and flavonoids through the process of extraction by alcohol.And through perpendicular experiments,the optimum extraction technology was determined: the extraction solvent using 75% alcohol,the solvent amount being 10,the reflux time being 2 hours and extracting 2 times and the temperature being about 75℃.3.Considering the quality of raw materials and operability in industrial production,a quality standard to control the quality of boju extraction was established.The content of Chlorogenic acid is greater than or equal to 1.4% . The content of flavonoids is greater than or equal to 35.0%.Among the flavonoids,the content of luteolin is greater than or equal to 0.5% and the content of apigenin is greater than or equal to 0.9%.These results can be served as basement for the further study of boju.
