Condyloma (Condyloma Acuminatum, CA) is a common sexually transmitted diseases, by the human papilloma virus (human papilloma virus HPV)-induced mucocutaneous benign neoplasm, primarily by sexual contact with the genital closely related to the occurrence of cancer. At present, treatment of condyloma mainly to topical treatment, such as drugs, laser, freezing, as a supplement to systemic therapy, such as immunotherapy, but no matter what method of treatment, it has a greater possibility of recurrence. This study was explored platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and its two receptors (PDGFR-αand PDGFR -β) condyloma lesions in the expression of features, and to study the treatment of condyloma acuminatum which may has some significance. To investigate the expression of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and its receptor, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βin the lesional of condyloma acuminatum and to explore their potential biological significance. The expressions of PDGF, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βin the lesions of condyloma acuminatum were investigated by immmunohistochemical technique, and the normal foreskins were taken as controls. There were no expressions of PDGF, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βin the foreskin from normal controls, or feeble expressions of PDGF, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βin the stratum basale and stratum spinosum of foreskin, strongly expressions of PDGF, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βin the lesional of condyloma acuminatum were observed. There were mostly expressions of PDGF in the stratum basale, stratum spinosum and endothelial cell, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βwere chiefly sited in the membranes of epidermal basal cells, stratum spinosum and endothelial cells.PDGF, PDGFR-αand PDGFR-βmight be involved in the pathogenesis of condyloma acuminatum.
