| OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical effect of the combined application of fluoride varnish and semiconductor laser to treat the clinical dentin hypersensitivity.METHODS:One hundred and sixty-two diseased teeth chosen from forty-two dentin hypersensitivity cases were divided into three group and were desensitized by using fluoride varnish, semiconductor laser and the combined application of fluoride varnish and semiconductor laser. VAS was used to evaluate comprehensively the sensitivity of the diseased teeth. Then the difference value (D1) of the pain score between the present moment and before treatment, the difference value (D2) of the pain score between after one month and before treatment and the difference value (D3) of the pain score between after three months and before treatment were calculated respectively. Finally, statistical analysis was carried out.RESULTS:D1 of fluoride varnish group, D1 of laser group and D1 of the combined application of fluoride varnish and laser had significant differences(P<0.05). D2 of fluoride varnish group, D2 of laser group and D2 of the combined application of fluoride varnish and laser had significant differences (P<0.05) .D3 of fluoride varnish group, D3 of laser group and D3 of the combined application of fluoride varnish and laser had significant differences (P<0.05) .CONCLUSION:The clinical experience showed that the combined application of fluoride varnish and laser had better clinical effects than fluoride varnish or semiconductor laser applied exclusively on the dentin hypersensitivity. |
