In everyday life, human skin often rubs on other external surfaces, which has caused many friction problems.Understanding the tribology property of the skin would help to develop living and working implements and biomedical devices, avoid frictional trauma and improve comfortness of the skin.Rabbit skin has been tested in-vivo under flat-on-flat contact using a homemade ST-1 reciprocal sliding skin friction testing apparatus. The effects of different traumatic numbers and reciprocal sliding frequency on the self-repairing adaptability of rabbit skin under the frictional condition were investigated by using a reciprocal sliding skin frictional testing apparatus to simulate prosthesis gait. Friction test were performed on the LT skin of normal volunteers, tibia amputate skin of disabled volunteers and rabbit skins at various load with prosthetics material(Aerylate).The detailed observations and analysis of the skin histological structure and physiological response were conducted by using optical microscope(LeicaDMRX). The rule of traumas grade and Pathological reactions were primarily establish under different traumatic numbers and reciprocal sliding frequency in the frictional condition. The analysis results provide a theoretical basis of making up a reasonable schedule for the rehabilitation of the amputee. Main conclusions are drawn as follows:1. Friction test result shows that, friction coefficient between difficult skin and prosthetics material(Aerylate) decreased with the increase of normal load. Friction coefficient between rabbit skin and prosthetics material resemble the ones between the LT skin of normal volunteers, tibia amputate skin of disabled volunteers and prosthetics material. So, the course of traumas and self-repair of rabbit skin can simulate the ones of traumas and self-repairs of normal volunteers and tibia amputate skin.2. The friction conditions showed remarkable effects on the skin traumas grade and pathological reactions. The traumas grade of hair follicle and sebaceous gland caused by reciprocating friction on rabbit skin enhanced with inereasing traumatic numbers and reciprocal sliding frequencies. The results showed that the self-repairing adaptability of hair follicle and sebaceous gland is bad under frictional condtion. The skin traumas was the most serious in the first time,having the thick scab of traumatic skin and many number of inflammatory cells .The number of inflammatory cells of the traumatic skin in the second by the action of self-repairing is fewer than the ones of the health skin in the first time under the frictional condition. The scab haven't been. The results have resemble characters in the following times in contrast with the resut in the second time .The conclusion showed that the skin have a good adaptation to friction condition by the action of self-repairing.
