Abstract/Summary:
Objective To evaluate the protective efect of liposomal prostaglandin E1 on myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury in infants undergoing CPB.Mothods Thirty - six infants undergoing cardiac operation were randomized to be treated either with Lipo-PGE1 ( testing group ,n = 18 )or with saline treatment (control group ,n = 18 ). Lipo-PGE1(5 ng·kg-1·min-1) was injected intravenously after induction of anesthesia until theend of CPB .Control group use the same conditions except Lipo-PGE1. Before operation and 2h ,6h and 20h after the aorta was declamping ,veinblood was collected to measure cTnI , LDH , CK , CK-MB, Mb .Theclinical data were recorded during the perioperation .No other drugs of myocardial preservation were used .Results There were no differences between the two groups with respect to the major perioperative variables . The cTnI, LDH , CK andCK-MB, Mb concentration in both groups increased after aorticdeclamping than that before CPB (P < 0.01). However , those biomakers were lower in liposomal prostaglandin E1 group than that in control group in different time point ( p < 0.05 ) ,except the concentration of CK-MB in 20h after the aorta was declamping .Conclusion Although the protection measures were used during the CPB ,the myocardial was injured ; Lipo-PGE1 has protective effect on Myocardial Ischemia Reperfusion Injury in CPB heart operations in infants.
