The Clinic Effect Research Of Relaxed Pelvic Floor Syndrome Consitipation Treated By Acupuncture And Biofeedback

Objective Treat RPFS - Constipation by acupuncture and biofeedback,and use major clinic symptoms and PAC-QOL as outcome measures to evaluate the effect,to find the efficacy standards and treatment for RPFS- Constipation.Methods Enrolled 40 cases,who were inpatients or outpatients of Department of Anorectal of Nanjing Hospital of TCM from Sep.2007 to Dec.2008,according to Rome III process and laboratory examination, were 2 males and 38 females, and 21-75 years old,and had course of disease for 1-35 years.In these cases, 28 cases depended on manual maneuvers; 7 cases were combined with mental discorder. All of them were divided into 2 groups: treatment group and control group. Treatment group: therapeutic acupoints:BL31,BL32, BL33,BL34,BL25, BL23,DU20,BL57;biofeedback: therapeutic regimen: stim. & EMG stim . 10 treatments were a course, and the patients received 2 courses of treatment. Major clinic symptoms and PAC-QOL were used as outcome measures to evaluate the effetiveness. Comparing the curative effect and the quality of life before treating and after treating.Results After treating for 2 courses, treatment group: 0 case was cured ,0 case was improved and 17 cases were invalid(85%), and the total efficiency was 85%;control group: 0 case was cured ,0 case was improved and 4 cases were invalid(20%), and the total efficiency was 20 % .The major clinic symptoms(including awareness of defecation , times of daily defecation ,nature of fecal,course of defecation,effort of defecation and et al) and manual maneuvers using were improved significantly(P<0.005). PAC-QOL scores of physical discomfort, worries/concerns, psychosocial discomfort, satisfaction and overall value were all reduced obviously(P<0.01).Conclusions Treating RPFS - Constipation by acupuncture and biofeedback is effective and Security,and can improve the clinic symptoms and life quality.
