Objective:In the modernization of today, with the development of medical industry, people has gradually began to pay attention to the impact of occupational stress on physical and mental health. United Nations report in 1994, according to research by the International Labor Organization showed: "The world is going to be a world full of tension." Research on occupational stress has become basic issues which professional medical pay widespread attention to. This study has discussed occupational stress in health care workers, especially in the first-line health care workers, and analyzed the differences between doctors and nurses on occupational stress according to the findings. Explorng the impact factors of occupational stress on doctors and nurses, then making corresponding measures to control occupational stress, improving occupational stress on doctors and nurses, and enhancing their working enthusiasm.Method:Cluster sampling method was adopted for the investigation according to doctors and nurses of three third- level grade A hospitals of Changchun city, the sample inclusion criteria were the clinical frontline doctors and nurses. The questionnaires including occupational stress scale (OSI-R) and general self-made questionnaire were using on sursey. EXCEL and SPSS16.0 were using for statistical analysis.Results:As the particularity of their work, the sursey were carried on according to analysis of OSI–R with doctors and nurses as a whole, it showed that occupational stress on doctors was higher than which on nurses. The study also showed further discussion that differences are existing in health care workers between different gender, occupation, educational level, age, marital status, ethnic according to OSI-R. Multiple regression analysis showed that the main factors affecting stress response are as folows: occupational tasks, response resources, sex, occupation, health level and so on.Conclusion:Occupational stress of health care workers has severely affected their physical and mental health.In order to alleviate occupational stress , integrated efforts of the community, hospitals, families, health care workers are in need, and countermeasures wil be put forward which should base on the difference between different occupations, genders, ages, educations of occupational stress.
