Objective:To investigate the effect of garlic polysaccharide B by intragastric administration on the immunologic function of the immunosuppression model on mice who using hydrocortisone by hypodermic injecting in vivo.Materials and Methods:Thirty-six km mouse were randomly divided into six groups with 6 mouse in each group:normal control (Normal Saline i.g+Normal Saline Hypo), model control (Normal Saline i.g+Hydrocortisone Hypo), positive control (25 mg/kg-d Levamisole i.g+Hydrocortisone Hypo), high dose treatment (1600 mg/kg-d GP-B i.g+Hydrocortisone Hypo), middle dose treatment (800 mg/kg-d GP-B i.g+Hydrocortisone Hypo) and low dose treatment (400 mg/kg-d GP-B i.g+Hydrocortisone Hypo), each group intragastric administration liquor for 12 days, From the 6th day, using liquor by hypodermic injecting, continuously 7 days. The thymus index and spleen index of each group were measured, the peripheral-blood white blood cell were counted, the effects on proliferation of lymphocytes and the phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophage were observed, the peripheral-blood lymphocyte subsets (CD3+, CD4+and CD8+T lymphocyte) percentages was also measured by the flow cytometry.Results:(1) Garlic polysaccharide B increased the spleen index of the immunosuppression mice (P<0.05), but the effects were small to the thymus index; (2) Garlic polysaccharide B increased the number of the peripheral-blood white blood cell on the immunosuppression mice; (3) The spleen T lymphocyte's transformed index of each group is not obvious difference, that means each group of mice spleen T lymphocyte's multiplication response induction to Con A are adiaphorous; (4) The phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophage of the mice who intragastric administration liquor of 800 mg/kg garlic polysaccharide B were enhanced (P<0.05); (5) After intragastric administration liquor of garlic polysaccharide B for 800 mg per kilogram of mouse body weighte, the marked upgrade in percentage of CD3+CD4+and CD4+/CD8+(P<0.05), while the polysaccharides reduced the percentage of CD3+CD8+(P<0.05). Conclusion:The garlic polysaccharide B had certain stimulation and restore function to the spleen; could recover the number of the peripheral-blood white blood cell; enhance the phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophage and modulate the quantity percentage of T lymphocyte subgroups positively in model mice. But the effect of the thymus and the splenic T lymphocyte transform action were not obvious.
