Objective:To observe the curative effect of treating Infantile Postinfe-ctious cough by using SuJie cough mixture medicines(tonifying spleen, regulating Qi and reducing phlegm Chinese medicines).Method:60 infantile patients with postinfectious cough were recruited in a prospective randomized controlled study. The patients were divided into two groups:observed group and controlled group. In the observed group, the patients took Chinese medicines SuJie mixture for 1 week while the other ones received symptomatic treatment with Western medicines. Cough and Chinese patterns symptom(s) scores were recorded at the beginning and the end of study, in addition, making a follow-up visit to the two groups one week after finishing a course to know standing effects, then made a compare of curative effect, onset time, course of diseases and sustained response between two groups by using SPSS15.0.Result:(1)The cough scores of both groups after treatment were lower than pretreatment:values for each group significantly(P<0.01), but no significance after treatment between the two groups(P>0.05). It is indicated that the two groups'therapy was positive effective. Clinical cough effective rate was 93.3%, the cough cure and markedly improvement rate was 66.6% in observed group while the other was 83.3%,33.3% respectively. Through chi-square tests, there was no significant differences between them in total effective rate, (P>0.05), on the contrary obviously significant differences in the cure and markedly improvement rate, (P<0.05), which indicated the observed group controlled cough better than the controlled group. (2)The Chinese pattern total scores of the two groups reduced significantly, (P<0.01), that indicating the two groups' therapy was effective; Comparing the two groups'scores one course later, the score of observed group descend more obviously than controlled group, (P<0.01). Clinical total effective rate was 86.6%, the cure and markedly improvement rate is 30% in observed group while the other is 63.3%,10% respectively. Through chi-square tests, there's significant differences between them (P<0.05), which means the Chinese medicine is superior to western medicine on improving all syndromes. (3) By making a following-up visit to the 60 patients 7 days later, Clinical cough effective rate of observed group and controlled group respectively was 93.3%,83.3%, while the cure and markedly improvement rate was 30%,10% respectively. Both of them had significant differences (P<0.05). It was suggested that the persisting effect of observed group was better than controlled group. (4)The onset time of treatment group was shorter than match group significantly (P<0.05). This showed that Sujie Mixture take effect fast. On the opposite, the total course of treatment was equal between the two groups. Conclusion:Sujie Mixture cough medicines have benefit in the treatment of infantile post infectious cough with Patterns of Deficient Spleen Qi causing Phlegm and Moisture Forming Internally.
