Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Cough Mixture in the treatment of elderly patients with Post Infectious Cough of the mixture of antipathogenic qi deficiency and retention of pathogenic factors and its effect on interleukin-10(IL-10),Transforming Growth Factor-?1(TGF-?1),mRNA expression of Foxp3 in peripheral blood CD8+CD28-T cellsMethods:The 50 cases with Post Infection Cough in Nanjing Hospital of Chinese Medicine, from November 2016 to October 2017,were selected and randomly divided into two groups:Control group:Non-intervention treatment;Test group:Taking cough mixture for 20ml three times a day with 7 days. Then Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes integral, eosinophile granulocyte ratio, eosinophile granulocyte count,IL-10 and TGF-?1,the content of CD8+CD28-T cells, the percentage of CD8+CD28-T cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cell and the mRNA of Foxp3 in CD8+CD28-T cells were measured 1 day before treatment and 7 days after treatmentResults:The total effective rate was 66.67%in the experimental group and 41.67%in the control group. After one week of treatment, the scores of Traditional Chinese Medicinesyndromes in both groups were decreased, and the range of changes was different between the experimental group and the control group. The changes of the experimental group were larger(P<0.05).The experimental group has no significant change in eosinophil granulocyte ratio and eosinophil granulocyte count after treatment compared with control group(P>0.05)After treatment, the level of IL-10 in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the level of TGF-?1 between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).The content of CD8+CD28-T cells(12.32±6.01,14.52±6.01;unit:105),the percentage of CD8+CD28-T cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(28.79%±15.87,30.96%±11.70%)and the mRNA expression of Foxp3 in CD8+CD28-T cells(0.000344±0.000163,0.000541±0.000739)had no significant difference before and after treatment in the control group(P>0.05).The content of CD8+CD28-T cells(15.93±8.75,11.15±6.68;unit:105),the percentage of CD8+CD28-T cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(31.96%±15.94%,23.71%±17.88%)and the mRNA expression of Foxp3 in CD8+CD28-T cells(0.000564±0.000713,0.000264±0.000160)had significant differences before and after treatment in experimental group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Cough Mixture is effective in treating post-infection cough and it can obviously improve the clinical symptoms of the patients. The Cough Mixture may regulate the level of CD8+CD28-T effectively, reduce the immunosuppression and accelerate the regression of inflammation by inhibiting the production of IL-10.
