The Clinical Application Experience Of Vacuum Sealing Drainage Therapy In Treating The Skin And Soft Tissue Absent Wound

ObjectiveThrough studying the clinical cases and analyzing data, to examine the treatment effects and summarize clinical experience of the Vacuum Sealing Drainage (VSD) in treating Skin and Soft Tissue Defect.MethodsFrom January 2007 to January 2010, a total of 50 patients with Skin and Soft Tissue Defect were treated in our department.26 patients,32 wounds, underwent VSD therapy and 24 patients,31 wounds, were treated by traditional wound dressing therapy. All patients were followed up for 1-8 months. We made clinical records and statistics of each patient's basic situation, the number of cases of wound surface, the healing time of wound surface, and the scales of pain on patients, then observed the clinical efficacy, used comparative data analysis and gave method summary of the clinical treatment.Results1. All patients with the treatments of VSD therapy, traditional wound dressing integrating skin grafting or flap grafting repair were cured, and had no obvious complications during the treatments.2. The healing time in VSD treatment group was significantly shorter than the traditional wound dressing group (P<0.05).3. The scale of pain on patients in VSD treatment group was significantly shorter than the traditional wound dressing group (P<0.05). ConclusionsThe VSD therapy is an easy and effective method for the treatment of Skin and Soft Tissue Defect. And it is worth the clinical application after mastering its contraindications.
