Objective: To evaluate the effect of vacuum sealing drainage and pressure dressing with skin grafting in treating skin avulsed limbs.Method: A total of 78 limb skin soft tissue injury patients underwent one stage skin grafting treatment from October 2013 to December 2014 in First Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical School. All the patients were divided randomly into treated group(47 patients received skin grafting and vacuum sealing drainage on the first stage), and control group(31 patients underwent pressure dressing and debridement on the first stage). Exclusion criteria: Bone and joint, nerve and blood vessels and other important deep tissue exposed; with diabetes mellitus, blood diseases and immunodeficiency diseases. The procedure was performed within 8 hours after injury. There was equilibrium between general data distribution,no significant statistical difference was found in patient’s gender, age, injury parts and injury reason etc. Compare the skin graft survival rate, incidence of wound infection, subcutaneous hematoma, wound healing time between treatment group and control group. Differences in measurement data were compared with t test, however X2 test were used in count data, difference was statistically significant when P < 0.05.Results: Survival rate of grafting skin, the incidence of subcutaneous hematoma and wound healing time were compared between two groups. The healing time of wounds in the treatment group were shorter than the control group, the skin graft survival rate in treated group was significantly higher than one in the control group, while the incidence of subcutaneous hematoma was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant when P < 0.05. Conclusion: Vacuum sealing drainage technology is an ideal method to promote skin graft survival in treating skin avulsed limbs, the effect of Vacuum sealing drainage technology is superior to compression bandaging method.
