BackgroundThe diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) was one of the most common chronic complications of diabetes mellitus. Incidence rate of DPN was from 60-90%.It was one of the most main couses of disability in diabetes mellitus. If a majority of DPN patients have not acquired treatment in time, something with skin ulcer, necrosis and even disable person will developed finally. There were mangy treatment methods, which were reported, in western medical therapy. These methods have obtained some effects, but they cannot achieve an ideal effect. Traditional Chinese Medicine on treatment has displayed pleased tendency.ObjectiveThrough the standardization of research, establishing therapeutic Scheme of integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN) preliminarily; To discuss the clinical value of the therapeu-tic Scheme;provide evidence for froming more better therapeutic scheme of DPN, further present effectiveness of TCM Treatment.Methods1.Therapeutic Scheme making:Through inducting professional conclusion by selecting literature, retrospecting the information of DPN patients who were in hospital, and performing expert consultation, that provide evidence for making therapeutic scheme and were to determine therapeutic scheme final-ly; 2. Clinical study:using control study for three group patients, the new treatment group was 30 inpatients receiving new therapeutic scheme in TCM hospital, the old treatment group was 30 inpatients receiving therapeutic scheme form previons experience in TCM hospital, western medicine group was 25 inpatients without through TCM Treatment in western hospital. After the discharge of the patient,I analysis the evaluation indexes which were TCSS, symptom score, hospitalization days, by using T-test or Variance Analysis.Results1. Analysis of Drug-use:The routine medication and analgesics used among three groups had statistically significant difference through chi-square test. The using of routine medication and analgesics in the western medicine group was more than the other groups.2. Total effective rate:The new treatment group:obvious effective rate 23.3%, total effective rate 96.8%; The old treatment group:obvious effective rate 0%, total effective rate 90%; The western medicine group:obvious effective rate 23.3%, total effective rate 96%, through chi-square test, P<0.05, the difference of three groups show statistical significance. It was demonstrated that efficacy of new treatment group was better than the other groups.3. Clinical score:By treatment, the scores of TSCC and symptom had decrease among three groups. The decreased of the new treatment group much lower than the other groups. The scores of TSCC and main symptom between new treatment group and western medicine group had statistically significant difference through T-test (P<0.05). The scores of symptom integral between new treatment group and old treatment group had statistically signifi-cant difference through T-test(P<0.05). This show that efficacy of new treatment group was better than the other groups. The clinical value of the new therapeutic Scheme. The advantages of treating DPN patients by TCM was significant. Conclusion:The new therapeutic scheme could improve symptoms of patients sig-nificantly, decrease hospitalization days. The definite curative effect of the new treatment group was better than other groups.
