Tumor angiogenesis can not only promote the rapid growth of the tumor, but also link with tumor invasion and metastasis. Therefore, by blocking or destruction of tumor angiogenesis and the blood circulation system to treat cancer has become another new breakthrough in cancer treatment.Domestic and foreign researchers have proposed low-power low frequency ultrasonic irradiation by peripheral intravenous injection into the intravascular microbubble agent, by ultrasonic "cavitation effect" causing damage to the wall of tumor angiogenesis and thus inducing the formation of intravascular thrombosis, embolism or partially blocking blood circulation and local tumor blood supply, causing local necrosis of tumor cells, thereby reducing the tumor volume to achieve the purpose of treatment.More than one existing ultrasound therapeutic apparatus are needed in the actual treatment, especially when the patient has larger or more than one tumors. At present, the ultrasonic treatment device is operated by the instrument panel, which is controlled by switch and LED digital to display functions. One switch control one ultrasonic device and it has no case management and print or output, and thus it is complicated when more ultrasonic treatment devices work together. Therefore a system is needed to be developed to control more than one devices at the same time in order to simplify operation, be convenient in management of clinical and pathological data records and reduce error. This research project uses computer as the unified management of multiple ultrasound machine treatment. Through the RS485 bus, the computer is connected with a number of ultrasound treatment devices; in the MODBUS protocol specification communication is under control to achieve more ultrasonic treatment instrument working conditions and work-related parameter settings. Two modules are designed with the use of Visual Basic 2005 application:one is to use serial communication MSComm to realize serial communication, making the system communicate with the ultrasound device controller through RS232 of the computer; the other is to use ADO database connection technology to achieve the Microsoft Office Access database file access and information in the course of treatment will be stored in a database file for reference. It is easy to operate and seldom make error. The project funded by Jiangsu Science and Technology Innovation and Application (BA2008104) has been successfully applied to HM-1 ultrasonic therapy instrument control systems. Currently HM-1 ultrasonic therapeutic apparatus has been used in Nantong Tumor Hospital, Taizhou Puji Hospital for clinical treatment in good condition.
