A Clinical Research On Treating Primary Nephrotic Syndrome With Traditional Chinese Medicine And Hormonen By Phases

Objective:To investigate the effectiveness and security of treating primary nephrotic syndrome with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and hormone in application.Method:Randomly divide 50 patients with primary nephrotic syndrome into 2 groups. 25 cases in the comparative group were treated with hormone (prednisone) and relative necessary treatment. Meanwhile anther 25 cases in the experiment group were treated with TCM by phases based on the treatment of the control group.Result:In the experiment group, sixty cases totally relieved,6 cases significantly relieved,2 cases partly relieved and 1 case was ineffective. While in the comparative group they were 9,8,3 and 4 respectively. The result of the later group was better than comparative group(p<0.05). Side-effects the experiment group (such as acne, hot sensation, reddish complexion, spiritual symptoms) was lower than the comparative group.(P<0.05) The recurrence rate in the experiment group was 22% which was significantly lower than the comparative group (35%).(P<0.05). After the trearment, the 24-hour proteinuria and plasma albumin were obviously improved in both groups. The treatment result shows that the experiment group was superior to the caoparative one.Conclusion:It was better to treat primary nephrotic Syndrome with traditional Chinese medicine and hormone. What's more, this method could reduce the side-effects and recurrence rate. So the integrative therapy was worth of further study and application.
