Objective To investigate the difference of complications , recurrence rates ,To explore the causes of recurrence after curative low anterior ressection and abdominoperitoneal ressection for low rectal carcinoma .Methods To collect the clinic data of 96 patients with low rectal cancer from January 2007 to December 2009.The patients are divided into two groups:Dixon and APR.The perioperative data and postoperative complication, recurrence rates were retrospectively compared and analyzed. A study of risk factors of recurrence was performed by using univariate and multivariate method.Result The overall recurrence rates was7.29%(7/96).There was no significant difference in complications, recurrence rates between group Dixon with group APR in low rectal carcinom(p>0.05). Univariate analysis showed that recurrence rate was significantly associated with the distal of tumor down edg and denate line, depth of bowel wall invasion ,pathological types, histological differentiation,Dukes stage and metastasis of lymph node .Multivariate analysis indicated that histological differentiation and depth of bowel wall invasion were prognostic factors for recurrence in low rectal carcinoma. Conclusions The recurrence rate was significantly associated with the distal of tumor down edg , denate line, depth of bowel wall invasion, pathological types, histological differentiation, Dukes stage and metastasis of lymph node .Dukes stage and pathological types of low rectal carcinoma are the most important factors for recurrence.
