Objective:Investigate tocolysis action of Radix Scutellariae from its immune aspect through observation of its effect on HO-1, HO-2 levels and aromatizing enzyme expression of mouse models of mifeprestone (RU486) inducted threatened abortion.Method:Pregnant Kunming mouses were selected and devided randomly into 4 groups:treatment group with Radix Scutellariae, treatment group with progesterone, modeling group and normal group. Administration of medications were strated among 4-9 days of pregnancy, RU486 was administered orally on the 7th day of pregnancy to form the models of threatened abortion. And fetus, plancenta, uterus and ovaries were obtained through laparotomy on the 9th day for pathomorphological observation through light microscopy and tests of HO-1, HO-2 levels in decidual tissue from maternofetal interface as well as aromatizing enzyme expression in ovarian tissue of each group.1) HO-1, HO-2 levels in the plancenta decidual tissue of modeling group were lower than threatened group with Radix Scutellariae, treatment group with progesterone and normal group, and difference was significant (P<0.05). 2) Aromatizing enzyme levels of modeling group were lower than treatment group with Radix Scutellariae, treatment group with progesterone and normal group, and difference was significant (P<0.05)Conclusion:HO-1, HO-2 levels in the plancenta decidual tissue and aromatizing enzyme expression in ovarian tissue of mouse models of mifeprestone (RU486) inducted threatened abortion were raised, indicating that Radix Scutellariae and pregesterone both have good tocolysis effect.
