ObjectiveThis research was a prospective randomized controlled clinical trial. It observe the clinical effect of Fugan Ning Paste in treating children with recurrent respiratory tract infection by comparing the treatment effect of two groups. It is hope to explore an effective paste treatment in children with RRTI.MethodsSixty two children with both deficiency of the spleen and lung in non-acute phase of RRTI were studied, which were divided into treatment and control groups with a simple random method. The treatment group received Fugan Ning Prescription and the control group received Yupingfeng Pill. Twelve weeks constituted a course of treatment and the therapeutic effect was evaluated after 9 months follow-up. The collected data were Inputted to a database for analysis by using SPSS17.0 statistical software. The analytical methods included include paired sample t test or paired rank sum test, chi-square test, etc.Results(1)Before and after treatment in the treatment group, the time of upper respiratory tract infection and acute bronchitis infection, the total times of infection, the average days of onset and change in severity were statistically significant difference(P<0.05), while the time of pneumonia was not statistically significant difference(P>0.05).(2) Before and after treatment in the control group, the time of acute bronchitis infections and change in severity were statistically significant difference(P<0.05), while the time of upper respiratory tract infection and pneumonia, the average days of onset and the total times of infection were not statistically significant difference(P> 0.05).(3)After treatment in the control group and the treatment group, the time of upper respiratory tract infection and acute bronchitis infection, the total times of infection and change in severity were statistically significant difference(P<0.05), while the time of pneumonia and the average days of onset were not statistically significant difference(P> 0.05).(4)the total effective rate on reducing attack frequency and severity of RRT1 was 87.1% in the treatment group and 61.3% in the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionsFugan Ning Prescription is more effective for the prevention and treatment of children recurrent respiratory tract infection, and it can shorten the course, reduce attack frequency and severity of RRTI better.
