Objective: To find the relationship of early human serum B cell factor - 1 (EBF-1), and the body mass index (BMI), bone mineral density (BMD),alkaline phosphatase (ALP) among postmenopausal women. Methods: The BMD of 2-4 of lumar spine(L2-L4) and left hip department (femoral neck,Ward's triangle and greater trochanter) were measured in the 134 postmenopausal women with Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA), The results were converted into T value; According to the results, these women were divided into normal BMD group(n=33),low BMD group(n=27),osteoporosis group(n=49) and serious osteoporosis group(osteoporosis bone fracture group,n=25). The serum calcium, serum phosphate, serum magnesium, body mass index (BMI), bone mineral density (BMD),alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and EBF-1 of those subjects was determined by ELASA.Results:⑴Compared with normal BMD group, the level of ebf-1 in osteoporosis group and serious osteoporosis group were reduced significantly(P<0.01)⑵EBF-1 was negative correlation with ALP, and were positive correlation with BMD,height, weight,BMI,serum calcium . After adjusted BMI, the correlation between BMD,weight and EBF-1 disappeared. A stepwise mulitiple linear regression analysis showed that ALP and BMI entered the regression equation. Conclusion: EBF-1 was related to BMI and ALP. EBF-1 may participate in the development of osteoporosis.
