The source of Jinniukou is the root and stem of Solanaceae plant Solanum torvum Swartz. with its stem in the Guangdong customs medicine. Widely distributed in tropical areas, widespread in South China. Is commonly used in herbal folk with stasis, pass through, reducing swelling, pain, the effect of cough.Solanum plants contain many types of chemical components, mainly alkaloids, flavonoids and their glycosides, steroids, triterpenoids and their glycosides, such as organic acids and their derivatives. Biological activity showed clearing and detoxifying, blood swelling, chills dampness and other effects, also has anti-fungal, anti-tumor activity.We study the chemical constituents of the 95% ethanolic extract of stem of Solanum torvum Swartz. Eight compounds have been isolated by using crystallization, recrystallizati on, silica gel column chromatography and Sephadex column chromatography et al. Seven of their structures had been identified according to the spectrum characters (1HNMR, 13CNMR, MS) and chemical properties. They are respectivelyβ-sitosterol(1),Acetyloleanol ic acid(2),3-O-Acetyl-11α,12α-epoxy-oleanan-28,13β-olide(3),oleanolic acid(4),salicylic acid(5), aurantiamide acetate(6),Isovanillic acid(7).2,4,5,7 were isolated from this plant for the first time.3,6 was isolated from Solanaceae plants for the first time.UV absorption spectrum of traditional Chinese medicine is its characteristic absorption spectrum of each component superimposed formed, and the absorption spectrum of Chinese herbal medicines is integrated by the components contained in the decision, therefore, particularly suitable for identification of traditional Chinese medicine, we identify Jinniukou and similar products by UV of the extractions of the herbs used by purified water, alcohol, chloroform, petroleum ether 4 different solvent. UV spectra of the extracts are determined by different UV spectrums. Comparising spectrums of different samples of the peak shape, peak, maximum absorption peak position and peak intensity, according to the shape and the maximum absorption wavelength spectrum. Studies show that Jinniukou and similar products of different solution extraction of the maximum absorption wavelength varies with the significant difference between the UV spectrum.
