Objiective:To explore the relationship of SELP C-2123G gene polymorphism with essential hypertension complicated atherosclerotic cerebral infarction(ACI) in Han population in Hunan Province. Methods:For the case-control study, Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) is performed to identify the distributions of allele and genotype frequencies of SNP C-2123G polymorphism of P-selectin gene in 155 patients with ACI and 156 patients with ICH and 174 healthy controls, which are same at age and sex. Genotype is compared in different population to explore the association between SNP C-2123G polymorphism of P-selectin gene and atherosclerotic cerebral infarction.Results:a.SELP C-2123G gene polymorphism reveales no significant difference between GG,CG and CC genotype and G and C allelic distribution in ACI patients and controls.b. The levels of TG,TC,HDL-C,SBP and DBP of GG,CG and CC genotype is not identified significantly different. The level of LDL-C of CC genotype is significantly lower than CG and CC genotypes(P<0.05).Conclusions:There is no relationship between the SELP C-2123G gene polymorphism and essential hypertension complicated ACI in Han population in Hunan province; In addition, carriers of the CC homozygote may be involved in level of LDL-C.
