Objective: To study the expressions ofαvβ3-integrin,MMP-11 and Moesin in colorectal carcinoma tissue and its clinical pathology significance. Methods: The expresions ofαvβ3-integrin, MMP-11 and Moesin in 12 cases of normal colorectal mucosa and 68 cases of colorectal carcinoma tissue were detected with in situ hybridization. Results: (1) The positive expression rates in normal colorectal mucosa were 8.3%(1/12), 25%(3/12),and 16.7%(2/12)respectively, the positive expressions rates ofαvβ3-integrin, MMP-11 and Moesin in colorectal carcinoma tissue were 55.9%, 69.1%, and 60.3% respectively. and there were significant differences on their positive expression rates between in colorectal carcinoma tissue and in normal colorectal mucosa(P<0.05).(2) The expression rates ofαvβ3-integrin and Moesin in colorectal carcinoma tissue in different gender, year, nationalities, size of tumor and infiltration depth were no significant difference (P>0.05),and in different differentiation ,lymph node metastasis and clinical stage were significant difference(P<0.05). The expression rates of MMP-11 in colorectal carcinoma tissue in different gender , year , nationalities , size of tumor were no significant difference(P>0.05) ,and in different infiltration depth, differentiation, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage were significant difference(P<0.05).(3) There were 9 cases lost visiting among 68 cases, the 5-year survival rates ofαvβ3-integrin and MMP-11 among the rest in colorectal carcinoma tissue were 42.1% and 46.8% in postive groups and were 85.7% and 75.0% in negative groups, Compared with them, there were significant difference between them (P<0.05). The 5-year survival rates of Moesin among the rest in colorectal carcinoma tissue were 48.7% in postive groups and were 66.7% in negative groups, Compared with them, there were no significant difference between them (P>0.05).Conclusion: (1) The expressions ofαvβ3-integrin was correlated with the new blood vessel generating, progression and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma, andαvβ3-integrin may be used as a predicting marker of the prognosis of colorectal carcinoma. (2) It is suggested that MMP-11 play a important role in progression and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma, and MMP-11 may be used as a predicting marker of the infiltration, metastasis and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma. (3) The expressions of Moesin was correlated with clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and differentiation, and had a closed relation with metastasis. The relation between the expressions of Moesin and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma has yet to be further studied and explored.
