Objective: Primary hepatic carcinoma is one of the most common malignances in China. The majority of pathologic type of hepatic carcinoma is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) which is beyond 90%. The characteristic of hepatic carcinoma is easy to metastasis and recurrence. It has been found that integrinαvβ3 had a high expression on the surface of the solid tumor cells. For these reasons, the function of integrin has become a focal point in recent years. But there are only a few articles about integrin in hepatocellular carcinoma. In this study, our aim is to explore the expression of integrinαvβ3 in the tissue of hepatocellular carcinoma and implanted hepatocellular carcinoma of nude mice. During measuring the expression rates difference ofαvβ3 in implanted hepatocellular carcinoma of nude mice between Ganaihegi group and control group, we can study the influence of traditional medicine Ganaiheji to hepatic carcinoma . Methods: 80 male nude mice were separated into 2 groups in random and each had 40. One group were treated with Ganaihegi . the other were control group. 80 male nude mice which were 4-6 weeks old were transplanted subcutaneously with HCC cell line HepG2. Then we observed the growth of the tumors. After 6 weeks, we took the tumors and weighted them.αv,β3 andαvβ3 protein were examined by immunohistochemistry respectively in paracarcinoma tissue , hepatocellular carcinoma and implanted hepatocellular carcinoma of nude mice. Results: (1) The tumors grew rapidly especially after 4 weeks and were conformed malignment tumor by pathology. (2) Protein of integrinαv,β3 andαvβ3 expressed in paracarcinoma tissue and hepatocellular carcinoma. In the same group, the expressions ofαv,β3 andαvβ3 had no difference (P>0.05). In each group, the expressins ofαvβ3 and αvβ3 were different. (P<0.05). (3)αv,β3 andαvβ3 protein were observed in implanted tumor, but the express rates among them had no difference (P>0. 05). Expressions of integrinαv,β3 andαvβ3 in hepatocellular carcinoma and implanted tumor were different(P<0. 05). (4) The expression rates of integrinαv,β3 and
