With the social life of information-based process and the process of global economic integration continues to accelerate, English is playing an important role. English has become a human life in all areas of the most widely used language. According to the 2001 enactment of the country's new "English New Curriculum Standards" requirements, students should be achieved at the primary stage of a comprehensive language proficiency target one or two. English courses for basic education mission is: to inspire and train students interested in learning English so that students build self-confidence, develop good study habits and the formation of effective learning strategies to develop self-learning ability and spirit of cooperation; to enable students to master certain basic knowledge of English and listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, developed a fairly comprehensive language proficiency; train students in observation, memory, thinking, imagination and innovative spirit; to help students understand the world and Western cultural differences, broaden their vision for their life-long learning and development to lay a good foundation.Reading is the basic language skills, is also an important language input method. A famous English education expert, Professor Chen Lin once said:the language of primary and secondary schools must adhere to input a lot. Have enough input in order to truly build and use. Our teaching of English in their daily activities, actively trying different ways to stimulate students interest in reading, in the process of guiding students to read to extract knowledge of the language, in the variety of language practice activities to foster language skills, to carry out step by step teaching of reading. Scholar Li Xiao-wide once said:"No reading, English language learning unable to move; with reading, English language learning steadily increased." Teachers are valued by the "read" only "read"; In fact, this "reading" should also include "reading" and the "read" capability. Therefore, we must guide the students to read, ways to improve students reading skills.However, the status of primary school English reading teaching alarming, inappropriate teaching of reading lead to premature loss of primary school English reading interest, low reading ability. In order to help students get lesson in reading a better all-round development, to seek a new way of teaching English reading is vital. Therefore, the author of the new curriculum standards rely on the theory under the English reading at the primary school students in the classroom with particular emphasis on reading ability.Writer's own teaching in Dalian Economic and Technological Development Zone, Song Lin Primary School conducted a five-month empirical research to nurture elementary school reading skills teaching methods to study the object, look into the problems and causes, and suggest improvements targeted students reading method.
