This paper elaborates on the revolutionary history in Li Rui's novels. During the history of contemporary Chinese literature, the narration of the revolutionary history once formed a literature mainstream which was very tremendous----lassic history novels of revolution. Classic history novels of revolution occupy a great place in literature for they involves in the illumination and constitution of national dominant ideology. What is more, they formed a relatively static system which contains the conception of revolution and history, the narrative mode and the aesthetic characteristics. After the Cultural Revolution, the writings about revolutionary history are tending to be marginalized. On the one hand, that is because new themes came into writers' visual fields, resulting the change of the focus of literature. On the other hand, the means of artistic expression before has become rigidification, restraining the development of literature. As a result, it is very significant for the writers to adjust their narrative methods, breaking though the modal conception of revolution and history, the narrative mode and the aesthetic characteristics of revolutionary history, restating the revolutionary history. In some senses, these re-narrations form the backwash and deconstruction against the classic and try to reconstitute the revolutionary history in a new historical context. In the trend of re-narrating the revolutionary history, as a thinker and intellectual, Li Rui shows his specificity. From Thick Earth in the 80s last century to the works after 90s such as Tree of the Calm, Cloudless, Silver City Stories and Life-A restatement White Snake, Li Rui tries to restate the revolutionary history. In these restatements, to begin with his unforgettable experience in the Culture Revolution, he constantly challenges and rethinks profoundly about the single, mainstream and optimistic conception of revolution and history in the classic-revolutionary-history narration which is of the style of theory of evolution and he breaks out the limited narrative mode of the revolutionary history. By the distinctive thinking of history, especially the complexity, contingency and absurdity of the revolutionary history, he challenges and reflects the meanings of such grand political proposition as "enlightenment", revolution and so on, forming the conception of revolution and history which criticizes the irrational history and establishing distinctive narrative views of revolutionary history. This paper mainly employs the methods of the history of literature and literary study to discuss the way of deconstructing the narrative mode of novels of classic revolutionary history in Li Rui's novels. At the same time, he reconstitutes a new narrative mode of revolutionary history. To be specific, there are three parts in this paper:preface (Li Rui—hinker, intellectual in a writer's style); chapter 1, the reflection on "revolutionary history" by novels; chapter 2, the reconstruction of revolutionary history by Chinese subjectivity. The effect of preface is to position Li Rui. Li Rui as a writer as well as a thinker and intellectual, joins and reflects the evolvement of the ideology and culture in new times. On the influence of different kinds of western ideological trends, he explores the outlet of Chinese writing. This is the starting and basis point of the argument of this paper.Chapter 1 studies the conception of revolution and history mainly from the angle of "why narrate". This chapter can be divided into two parts:one is Li Rui's conception of revolution and history. The other is revolutionary history and life experience. The former describes the evolvement of Li Rui's conception of revolution and history. The latter studies that how Li Rui releases the voice of the people who were oppressed by classic revolutionary history by combining the practical individual life experience of farmer, intellectual and female and how he highlights their subjectivity, restoring the situation of a real human. Therefore, he deconstructs the limitation of classic revolutionary history in the level of narrative content and constructs an expression of meaning which has new feelings.Chapter 2 focuses on "how narrate", exploring how Li Rui deconstructs narrative mode of classic revolutionary history in his novels, constructing a effective narrative mode. This chapter mainly from three aspects of Li Rui's novels—Lvliang background (dialect background), narration of colloquial style and classical aesthetic meaning, combining specific text of novels, studies in which Li Rui bursts the discourse dyke of classic revolutionary history and at the same time constructs the expression which focuses on "Chinese subjectivity"...
