In the traditional piano teaching of normal universities, teachers and students paid more attention on the skills of piano performing, the phenomenon of"focusing on skills and making little of art"existing extensively. For the students major in piano in normal universities, they could not differentiate their training aims with the aims in conservatory of music. The result is they have no clear localization for their development and their future job. For the teachers, they seldom impart the basic knowledge of music and the relevant discipline theory and they teach students in the processing of performing. Therefore, utilizing library to expand the teaching contents of piano and constructing piano curriculum teaching system based on library resources become an urgent problem that needs to be solved. Library in normal university is the document and information center, which has rich music resources, humanistic services and comfortable environment. It will be a great support for the teachers teaching, studying, looking for resources, and talking with each other. And it is also very important for the students improving their ability to enjoy music, appreciate music, display music and create music and cultivate their active music aesthetic standard and necessary music theories.This thesis studies a series of theoretical and practical questions in the reform and development of piano teaching by library resources in normal university through analyzing the aim, characteristics and present state of piano teaching in normal university and the development and resources advantage of modern library. It puts forward the necessity and specific measures of using library resources to support piano teaching, and gives mature consideration to the problems that may come forth in the process and corresponding schemes. It makes clear that on the basis of traditional piano teaching, appropriately making use of library resources to teach piano, making it integrating into the whole piano teaching is the need of the social development and the need of piano teaching. The author hope this thesis could be used for a reference for the development of piano teaching.
