Study Review On Loanwords In Modem Chinese

Language is an important part of culture. In modern society, the progress of science and technology provides a wider platform for culture communication. While the cultural exchange, the 21st century is the era of globalization of information. Because of cultural penetration among countries and vocabulary as the bases of cultural exchange is rich in changing in language. Therefore, loanword plays more and more important role in our daily communication. Loanword is an important part in Chinese vocabulary and is the most important and the first work to vocabulary scholars. With the unceasing development of economy and enhancement of communication to the world, a large number of loanwords flux into our daily life, and they have already become an integral part in our daily communication. Thus the study of loanword is of great immediate significance. It is in this practical consideration, the present paper will review the loanword in Modern Chinese from four aspects:the naming and definition, the classification and related research, the development and standardization of loanwords since 30 years of reforming and opening up to the world. The thesis also studies the status and development of the loanword in Modern Chinese and hackles, concludes, as well as comments on different scholars'representative academic achievements. The paper is to summarize loanword's true feature and clarify its thread in order to provide an overall systematic strong and reliable research platform for the future vocabulary scholars, and at the same time affirming the loanword's positive role in our daily life.
