It is very easy for people who learn native language or foreign language to make errors. Take Thai language for example, both of Chinese and Thai are the language of SVO, but the sentence elements'order is not all the same. The attributive and the adverbial are in front of centred words in chinesse, but they are in front of centred words in Thai language. This is a difficult point for foreigners to learn Chinese.In this thesis, baesd on the methods of Contrastive Analysis and Error Analysis, the writer discribes the respective definition and position of adverbial between Chinese and Thai language. Meanwhile, the writer compares the difference of adverbial between Chinese adverbial and Thai language adverbial from grammar structure, adverbial type and adverbial order. The writer uses Contrastive Analysis and Error Analysis to process the language materials gathered from Chinese major students in Panyapiwatte Insitute of Technology Thailand. Based on the analysis, the writer draws a conclusion that the adverbial errors Thai students make are caused by the negative transfer of mother tongue.In the last part of the thesis, the writer gives some advice to teach to Thai students' classes. The writer hopes that the thesis could do a little help on the research of adverbial error of Thai students in the process of learning Chinese language.
