To Apply Translators' Subjectivity For The Equivalence In Translation Of Foreign Publications

As foreign publication serves as a vital tool with which different sorts of information are transmitted, it is necessary to make a profound study on translation of foreign publication. This paper briefly introduced the language features of foreign publication and presented the translation criteria of "equivalence" with the case study analysis of Economist. Then through focusing on how the translator uses a translation method in achieving translation equivalence, the influence of translators' subjectivity on translation activity was testified.Through example analysis, the elements of the subjectivity were discussed specifically including the translators'purposes, cultural standpoints, the understanding of the ST and the language expression in TL in the perspective of word, sentence and text equivalence, then this thesis presented how to apply translators'subjectivity for the equivalence in E-C translation of foreign publication.
