Engineering, as one of the most important activities in today' society, has been having a great impact upon the whole society. In addition to the relationship between the nature and the human being, the relationship between different human groups is originally involved in the engineering itself. Nowadays, engineering ethics has become a very important field of philosophy. In the United States, both the theory and the practice of engineering ethics are very developed. Philip J. Chmielewski is a famous scholar in the United States. Based on the engineering practice in the United States, he enthusiastically does research in engineering ethics. According to Philip J. Chmielewski, engineering ethics is to those who are connected to the research and the design of engineering. In addition to the professional ethics of engineers, ethics of engineering policy-making and engineering program-decision is also discussed by him, as well as the ethics in engineering practice. Prof. Philip J.Chmielewski clarified the relationship between the engineering specialty and engineering ethics. What should be mentioned here is his special way of doing ethics research. Besides, Philip J. Chmielewski'thinking of engineering ethics education is enlightening to us. Of course, limitations are unavoidable in his ideological system. We should see the two sides of it, take what is good as our example, abandoning what is not proper for us. Only in this way, progress can be made in our engineering ethics study and practice.
