Research On Engineering Rationality And Engineering Ethics

From viewpoints of rationality and ethics, this thesis tries to find a way in which engineering activities can be practiced harmoniously in modern society.At first, the characters of modern engineering are discussed. According to the characters, the practice rationality of engineering is explained .The conclusion was made as follows:Engineering activities are procession of practices which integrate knowledge of science and technology with human culture value and ethics ,moreover ,rational engineering activities are processes, which embody the science and technology value and ethics value . The engineering rationality includes purpose rationality and ethics value rationality in engineering practices, and they are essential conditions and main restricted restrict causes for engineering development.Then, this paper introduces two research roads of current engineering ethics (including macro-engineering ethics and micro- engineering ethics) and principles of ethics in engineering ,discusses some ethics problems in engineering practice ,and emphasizes the importance of ethics and profession morals in profession community .At last, the forming and developing process of engineers'professional ethics is analyzed .Synthetic social contracts (an ethics theory) is introduced, and the regulation road of engineering ethics is put forward .
