Design management is an applied science which concerned with the integration of design into management. The first source appears can back to two or three decade's ages of last century, unfortunately, no one can give an completely definition in that period, yet only called design management.Design management was born in the UK, however, some of other countries begun to attach important to its value and research its theories and application methods until the middle of last century. Some British and Japanese enterprises are the earliest utilizing design management theory in the world. They apply the theory into the processes of enterprise management, production R&D, marketing research and so on so that achieved the benign economic effects and brand awareness. It is not only a great successful for enterprise but also the area of design management. Furthermore, the necessary and significant of integrated design and management is recognized gradually by people. An obviously effect on enterprise management appeared at seventy or eighty decades 21 century. As the theory is completely, the design management collage or specialized course is set up at the developed countries such as UK and USA. In that case, the researches for design management begin to carry on a professional way.The design management was used widely in industrial design area at first. The initial emphasis of design management is to enhance productive efficiency so that achieve more and more economic profits. In fact, the high technical products are designed through design management have a better competiveness. Otherwise, no matter the technology, functions, and profile, all of these aspects are designed by design management so that the entity production processes are monitored at correct method.As the developed theory of design management, the results of management are approbated by us. The design management no longer is only in charge by products design department, because its theory is organized in the entity processes, even it refers to every department. It represents at many aspects, for example, marketing positioning, production produce, product marketing, product tracking and service and so on. These aspects are finished by cooperation of enterprise's every department.At the end of last country, the theory of design management was introduced in China. Many of experts realized that the design management brought a great innovation. Because the special facts in China, the advanced and complete system is used to manage our design so that receive an predictable successful. Last two decades, we were holding the international design management forums many times. The experts come from Design Management Institute were invited to have a communication with us. The target of that is to introduce the new theory and research methods to China. The native experts expect that some practice design problem can be solved with these help.
