Human nature question around the world has formed a very important subject since the humanity was born. Ancient and modern in China and abroad, regardless of being the philosopher, the scientist, the religious believer and so on have different viewpoints on this question, some of which have certain influence, but also some are forgotten. In the history of western philosophy, Thomas Hobbes based on his governance theory, the concept of humanity has received commending or encounters refutes for once many times. Although Han Fei's thought is not the Chinese circle of thinkers'mainstream, his human nature concept which similarly proposed in the political theory has the quite big influence in many aspects.Hobbes thinks the evil humanity is not only inborn, but also not changeable. Consequently, his philosophic thought is not changing humanity, and is based on the "evil" to build a system that is in control, and"Leviathan"is born like this. Although Han Fei also admits that human nature is evil, he thinks the human nature which is evil from the angle of human selfishness. We can say that the human has the private idea since they were born on the whole world. Therefore, his philosophic thought is for his theory of"law". Focusing on Hobbes'and Han Fei'human nature thought in the same and different aspects to study can help us to explore their philosophy in many unknown uniqueness, including times, historical and regional differences. This thesis consists of four chapters:The first chapter is the whole thesis in the introduction. The second chapter narrates that Hobbes and Han Fei's human nature ideological content, which makes the brief outline to human nature thought origins and the basic content of both Hobbes and Han Fei. The third chapter is the key point of present paper, which analyzes Hobbes and Han Fei emphatically in the human nature thought aspect between the similarities and the differences, and to achieve the goal of the comparison. The fourth chapter further narrates Hobbes and Han Fei's human nature thought and the modern society's inspiration of theirs'.Overall, this thesis is only an attempt. East will attempt West's knowledge belt to arrive, and East's wisdom will be transmitted to the West, and make our world more beautiful. Hobbes's contribution on the philosophy is great without a doubt, and his influence is also obvious to the 16th century and even today. However, as a result of his violent material principle, his idea is only to discuss and to study for the people, but has never been implemented. This is caused by the emotion, the mood and so on non-material thing existence possible denial, but this is actually the essence which is influenced by his thought to the people today. Although Han Fei's ideology is very clear, is practical, but his predecessors in the shadow, never winning the recognition. Han Fei always does not deny humanity's emotion and the mood existence, because he believes the person's friendliness, which is different from Hobbes's. This thesis attempts Hobbes'and Han Fei's thought to"close", and"combination", and"update", and"to"people, its ultimate aim is to let people think such a problem:some things we get which come from the two thought giants'mouth are whether to be worth truly.
