Feminine Criticism Of Female Images In Chinese "Seventeen Years" Movies

"17 year movie" is an important historical period in the Chinese movie history. Varied feminine images in "17 year movie" were the most convincing witness of the special historical period. Females in the period of seventeen years became objects of performance, concern and description after having been neglected in several thousand years and finally welcomed their spring. They bid farewell to tragic, passive, weak fate and to be a hero in a manner. They are a symbolic notation which expresses the sense of female independence.This paper uses such theories as feminism, media typology and so on, at the same time, uses content analysis and film textual analysis as research methods, to discuss the female images in "17 year movie". We analyzes the category,special time codes and characterization techniques of "17 year movie" female images, to summarizes its existence esthetics significance and social meaning. I hope that my paper will provide a useful reference for shaping and re-shaping female images of Chinese movies in the future.
