The Values And The Rank Systems Based On Military Feats Of Qi And Qin In East Zhou Dynasty

During the Chunqiu Zhanguo period,each country wanted to through changes to make the countries rich and strong. Finally they could unity other countries. The rank system based on military feasts was a very important mean of selecting army talents. Meanwhile, it was also an important measure of mutual benefit for the countries and people. The rank system based on military feasts appeared in Qi earliest, but it has been developed well in the state of Qin finally. The paper attempts to explain that the correct values have a decisive role in a country and the people's subsistence and development through the values of the two people had different impacts on the system of military exploits. The men of Qi were poticular about material,etiquette and interests of equal importance,respecting for the talent and force,worshiping the theories of Huang-Lao and and the theory of Yin Yang. In the times of Zhanguo, these values made the Qi lose the opportunity of unifying the other six states.In contrast, the Qin was influenced deeply by the values of utilitarianism,craving for largeness and greatness of quantity,advocating criminal law, so the rank system based on military feasts including a strong sense of nationality and personal interests assisted the Qin to take on heavy responsibilities of unifying six countries instead of the Qi.
