John Williams (Williams, John) was a famous American composer, arranger, conductor and pianist. His most famous works of the film music, called "American film music textbooks." Williams's film music sometimes magnificent, majestic grand, sometimes serene, playful humor, fantasy when strange and full of mystery, the formation of a unique personal style. His creative approach varied, running through ancient and modern, classical, romantic and traditional approach is creative elements of contemporary popular music as well as all of mastery, his music light changes, colorful, while refreshing, interesting and give the film such tastes art form to a higher artistic quality.In this paper, through several of its most representative works of the film music creation techniques of harmony, some were started in 1977, "Star Wars" series (six), 1981's "Indiana Jonesâ… " ( also known as "Indiana Jones and The Ark") and 1993's "Schindler's List" several award-winning works to the composer Williams summarized the tactics and the use of creative harmony, and can explore their harmony style and harmony creation features with its links of the movies.Paper is divided into four chapters, Chapter I: cinematic music creation, first outlined the history of Hollywood film music as a foreshadowing, and then briefly discusses the film music of the "thesis writing" in nature, and finally discusses the "dominant motive" approach in widely used in film music.Chapter II: Analysis of film music, the creation of harmony system analysis section of three representative works ,there were tuning tone, harmonic material, harmonic progression, termination, outside of chord these five sides ,with arguments by example, described the normal harmony creation features of Williams's film music.Chapter III: "Dominant motive" in Williams's film music harmony techniques, from the core of the "dominant motive" to proceed, the depth study of the performance of film music, divided two sections into "dominant motive" of the harmony presentation and the "dominant motive" ,from the "dominant motive" of the harmony material, harmony vocabulary, the appearance and development of harmony texture to start on discussion.Chapter IV: the Harmony style of Williams's film music contact with the film style, summed up the Harmony style of Williams's film music, can not be divorced from its mother, the film of course, therefore, this chapter discusses two aspects from the links of "dominant motive" harmonic language and film theme, and harmony design create the layout of the contact film paper, is a detailed analysis of the previous chapters a summary and distillation.
