This paper highlights from the aspects of semantic characteristics and syntactic features, combined with a specific use and on the basis of full description, to compare "changchang(常常)" and "tongchang(通常)".This paper includes three chapters.Chapter 1 is introduction. This part briefly introduces the research object, topic reason and meaning, corpora source and research method, details research status and puts forward our views that about the research status.Chapter 2 is the comparison of "changchan(g常常)" and "tongchan(g通常)". This part contrasts them mainly from the aspects of semantic characteristics, syntactic features and the choice of sentence class. In the semantic features, they both mean a lot of repetition of events, actions or status. But "changchang(常常)" simply means many repetitions and emphasizes the frequency and usualness. However, "tongchang(通常)" refers to the general situation and emphasizes the regularity. "Changchang(常常)" can be used in sentences that express subjective aspiration, "tongchang(通常)" can be used in sentences that express general view. In syntactic features, this article contrasts and analyses them from the act as attribution among sentences, modifying dynamic part-of-speech composition and adjectives composition, common appearance with tense auxiliary and words that express time, with negative adverbs and other adverbs, the displacement ability in the sentence and the act as attribution among sentences after modifying dynamic part-of-speech composition. Meanwhile, we demonstrate them with a large number of corpus. In the sentence of choice, "changchang(常常)" can be used in declarative sentences, interrogative sentences, imperative sentences and exclamatory sentences. "Tongchang(通常)" can be used in declarative sentences and interrogative sentences, it cannot be used in imperative sentences and exclamatory sentences.Chapter 3 is the conclusion. This part concludes and summarizes semantic characteristics, syntactic features and sentence class choice.
