The thesis is attempted to explore skepticism and its representation from three aspects in the poems written by Wang Xiaoni. The first part dwells on analyzing the poetic contents and significance of skepticism. The poetic essence includes the rumination upon man's state of being under the circumstances in nowadays, such like man's lost, estrangement among persons; it also involves the examination of circumstances nowadays, and the predicament the circumstance brings on to us. Skepticism is a continuity of reflecting, discovery and criticizing. In other words, it is humanism that is concomitant of the process out of reconstructing and doubting. Rather than point to the way out, these poems facilitate the individual existence to mediating over what the truth of life. The second part is concentrated upon how Wang Xiaoni's skepticism is displayed by images from the clusters of images of city, nature, and light. The clusters of city images point out skepticism directly; the natural images demonstrate skepticism from their reverse sides. Whereas, the cluster of "light" images are divided into images of "natural light" and "abstract light". The former demonstrates the spirit of restoration in skepticism, and the latter indicates the objects which are criticized. The third part is to explore the characteristic ways of discourses deployed in Wan Xiaoni's poems from three aspects. The first way of discourse deployed resides in the narrative centering upon the first person and in the subject made by personal pondering. At the same time, the collective term "we" substitutes the first person at some moment. The second characteristic is to use colloquial so as to express poetess's skepticism. Such discourses are disrupted by the languages as if comes from unconsciousness. Skepticism is manifested in the circumbendibus but profound way. The third characteristic is to narrate by the language from individual's feel. Therefore, skepticism emerges from the moment of the humdrum life. However, the everyday life felt by individual is in accord with life man inevitably confronts in the larger historical context. As a result, skepticism is rendered expansive and profound.Through the analyzing of skepticism in Wang Xiaoni's poem, the thesis is hoped to unfold the contents, significance and representation of skepticism. These parts are entwined and entangled, which are combined together to direct against the essence of skepticism.
