The Study Of Medical Terms In Tun-huang's Medical Volumns

Tun-huang is a rich mine of language. The medical volumes of Tun-huang are rich in various language phenomena; and the medical terms used in those books are available to be widely studied. Our analysis on the usage of such medical terms will be definitely of great benefit to the study of the Chinese language history.The dissertation is based on the study of medical volumes from the Mogao Grottoes. The usage of medical terms will be discussed through methods of the combination of excavated documents and extant documents, the combination of synchronic comparison and diachronic comparision, and the combination of macroscopic study and microcosmic study.The dissertation consists of three chapters as follows:Chapter one is an introduction to provide the materials, present situation, significance, and methods of the study.Chapter two is mainly the internal study of Tun-huang's medical volumes and medical terms by analyzing their categories, structures and features.Chapter three is the analysis on the relation between the medical terms in Tun-huang's medical volumes and in previous generations, in dialects, in loan words and in national terms. In this chapter, it will mainly discuss the resource of medical terms in Tun-huang's medical volumes and their influence on the terms of other categories. And this chapter is the key point of the dissertation.
