Researches on personality psychology now trend to focus on personality through cognition, and many researches show that personality influences individuals' cognitive process bias. Interpersonal independence (â…¡d) is the essential part of personality of independence, which is defined as the comprehensive personality characteristics in the process of interpersonal communications, and it mainly covers interpersonal independence, interpersonal initiative (II), interpersonal responsibility(IR), interpersonal flexibility(IF) and interpersonal openness(IO). Interpersonal independence refers to the basic interpersonal activities; interpersonal initiative refers to the initiative of interpersonal communication; interpersonal responsibility involves loyalty and credibility; interpersonal flexibility figures out that one holds the flexible communicative principles and handles different cases in different ways to meet the need of both sides and keep the corresponding benefit and faces; and interpersonal openness emphasizes one's tolerance and acceptance toward social activities. This paper intends to solve the problems as to how the influence emerges if the attentional bias does exist, and how attentional bias runs. Two groups of 20 people for each are picked out according to their different levels from the interpersonal self-support scale (ISSS). Two experiments are conducted:Experiment 1 employs the probe of detection task in attentional bias, and the result shows that those of low self-support level pay shorter attention to negative evaluation words than those of high self-support level; Experiment 2 composes its access by the way of cue-target paradigm in attentional bias, which shows the reaction time of both are longer with valid cues than that with invalid ones, that is to say, the samples are influenced by cues. Those of high self-support level with valid cues take shorter reaction to positive interpersonal evaluation words than to neutral ones, and pay attentional facilitation to positive interpersonal evaluation words. Those of low self-support level with valid cues, on the other hand, take shorter reaction to negative words than to neutral ones, and pay attentional facilitation to negative interpersonal evaluation words. Moreover, those of low self-support level with invalid cues take noticeably longer reaction to negative words than to neutral ones, and pay difficulty disengagement to negative interpersonal evaluation words. It is concluded that attentional bias influences the attention to positive evaluation words of high self-support level group, which embodies attentional difficulty disengagement, and attentional bias influences the attention to negative ones of low self-support level group, which embodies attentional difficulty disengagement and attentional facilitation. In all, the influence of interpersonal self-support levels to individuals' attentional bias is the key factor to maintain individuals'mental health.
