The research base on the source monitoring framework and audience effects theory explores the effects of the authority audience on the source monitoring by two experiments. In Experiment l,We set authority scene by camera and measure the scores of item memory and source monitoring of subjects. The scores of two kinds of memory are compared with that in the non-authority (no camera). In experiment 2,the object disguised as subject or teacher to set the authority or non-authority scene. We explore the differences of the source monitoring between two kinds of source memory and the differences between two kinds of mistakes in two scenes. This research get the following conclusions.First of all, the subjects in the authority scene tend to identify the source of item with elaborate systemic processing strategy.Second, authority audience is not able to significantly reduce the phenomenon of unconscious plagiarism. What's more, to remind the subjects pay attention to the sources of items can significantly improve their scores of source monitoring. Furtherrmore, there is some limitations in the social promotion of the authority audience on source monitoring. Only when the experimental tasks are single or related to the source monitoring, the authority audience will significantly improve the level of source monitoring.
