In this paper, we simply discuss and analyze methods of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and focus group discussion teaching method. The cause of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language after decades of development, the contents of study are becoming more refined, and more in-depth study. About methods of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language in this specific field, from the traditional Teaching approach to the current popular Comprehensive Teaching Approach, we have come to realize that our approach of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a comprehensive, diverse trends. Group discussion teaching method of this article discussing is precisely in response to this situation. Practice of teaching in the classroom, significance, existing problems of this method and so on are discussed, analysed and researched, and the approach of teaching is a new attempt and development.This article has six parts in all. The first part mainly deals with the present research of Chinese as a foreign language. And review the development of methods of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language in decades and need a new breakthrough. The second part discusses the development of secondary schools and universities of group discussion teaching method in the domestic and international, the method may be introduced in classes of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and summarize group discussion teaching method. The third part analyses the meaning of group discussion teaching method. The fourth part mainly studies the cases of group discussion teaching method and analyses and researches the classes of the form. The fifth part simply analyses the problems of group discussion teaching method. The sixth part summarizes some of the points above, points out that the teaching method is only at an exploratory stage, we need to continue efforts to be better in the classes of Chinese as a foreign language using this teaching method.
