A Study On The Names Of Harness In Mongolian

In the present thesis, the author chooses the names of harness from the prolific Mongolian vocabulary and makes a brief introduction to each of the names, based on the classification for the names. At the same time, it makes a further research on the features of word formation, morphological function, and dialectal distribution of the names in Mongolian. A brief etymological description is also made in the present thesis.The whole thesis is composed of the following parts:introduction, main body (three chapters), conclusion, appendix, references, and acknowledgment.In the introductory part, the aim and significance of the research work, research methods and steps as well as previous research on this topic are included.Chapter One classifies the names of harness in Mongolian into seven parts, and the forms, meanings, and distribution of the names are explained in detail.Chapter Two describes the word formation, morphological and dialectal features of the names of harness in Mongolian. Origins of some names are also researched in this chapter.Chapter Three tries to explain the cultural contents of the names of harness in Mongolian such as the names in riddles, proverbs, aphorisms, idioms, toponyms and names of plant, from the angle of the cultural linguistics.The conclusion part summarizes the results of the whole thesis.
