AS the leader of Xinan painting school, Jianjiang has become the focus in the academic circles in recent years. Research findings on Jianjiang and Xinan painting school emerge endlessly, and confirmation, rectification, modification and repetition abound by fours and fives. Many scholars and thoerists from Chinese Mainland, Chinese Taiwan, Japan and the U.S. focus on Xinan painting school and Jianjiang, thus making them the hot words in the modern academic circles.The artistic style of Jianjiang, according to the author, is the unique understanding to the geometry stylization, which is a key reason that he can unrival in the 17th century'Chinese painting world. The first key point to be discussed in this paper is what is geometry stylization and how it displays. Jianjiang'attention to the line is the basic element to constitiute his picture'geometry stylization. Here"attention to the line"does not limit to his attention to the pen and ink touch, but ponders more on the line representability. In his paintings, taking the forceful line as the basic supporting point to construct his geometry style, Jianjiang expresses his works spiritually and not merely technically. Jianjiang sublimes the line in Chinese paining—the basic technical element—to a unique goemotry trend and embodies his lofty and artistic ideas simutaneously, which is our rare legacy left by him. The second key point is where his geometry style derives from. The anthor thinks the wood engraving print of Huizhou influences a lot to Jianjiang'painting style. Not only in Techniques, but also in painting ideas, Huizhou's wood engraving printers and artists are closely related, and the mutual influence and study promote their mutual development and prosperity. The influence of whether to learn from the ancients or to learn from the nature to Jianjiang'geometry style has been mentioned in some other papers, so this author will just summarize it briefly and not analyze it in detail. The third key point is what is the significance and value of the geometry style of Jianjiang'painting. In his later years, the transition from Ming dynasty to Qing dynasty, the adherents of Ming dynasty are hopeless to fight against the new rulers by force and they have to express their anger by painting. And the geometry scheme perfectly conveys Jianjing's cold and free mental state. At that time, there are plenty of people who study and imitate Jianjiang and they evaluate highly on him. Besides, the author thinks Jianjing's geometry style also influences significantly and profoundly to the modern landscape paining world. Taking Prof. Lin Rongsheng and Prof. Xu Jun, two modern landscape artists, as examples, the author analyzes the demonstration effect of Jianjing'geometry style to the modern landscape world.
