Coping styles have caught much attention of schools, families and the society which is as the generalization of facing with the difficulties and choosing solutions and strategies. The numbers of related researches are increasing. Most of the studies are focusing on the characteristics of coping styles and the relationship between coping styles and mental health. This study is based on reviewing the relevant researches of the coping styles, trying to improve the coping skills of undergraduates through group psychological training, which is also called group tutorship that the psychological consult by the background of group. By the interaction of interpersonal relation in the group, corporate members can learn and experience by observing in the process of contact in order to know oneself, study oneself and accept oneself, and improve the relationship between oneself and others. Coping styles as skills can be used in the daily life the as same as other skills, which can be improved through interrelated training. It is a question whether coping skills can be improved through training. Sothe hypothesis of this study is that we can raise the undergraduates'coping style through group psychological training.When people are facing with difficulties, they usually choose a series of similar approaches and means which include aspects of cognition and behaviors. Coping styles are generalization of the approaches and means, in the condition between situation and individual. Mature, positive coping styles have strong influence on development of mental and physical of people. Uses the Coping Style Questionnaire to 644 undergraduates, conclusions are listed as follows:1. The general characteristics of undergraduates'coping style is solving problem which means that they can choose positive coping style to face difficulties.2. From the aspect of gender, there are significant differences of coping style in solving problem,seeking help and retreat between male and female (P<0.01), other coping styles don't have significant differences. Schoolboys are better at solving problem, but schoolgirls are better at seeking help.3. From the aspect of grades, there are significant differences in self-accusation,seeking help and rationalization between grade one and grade four(P<0.05), and there are significant differences in retreating between grade one and grade two, grade three and grade four(P<0.05). The main coping style of undergraduates is solving problem among different grades. Grade one choose self-accusation and illusion more than grade four, and grade one also tend to choose retreat. Grade three choose retreat more than grade four.4. There are significant differences in solving problem and seeking help in different minority (P<0.01), there are no differences among self-accusation,illusion,retreat and rationalization. Mongolian undergraduates tend to choose the coping style of solving problem; Chinese undergraduates prefer to choose the coping style of seeking help.In this study, by using Undergraduates Self-Rating Life Events Check List to 333 undergraduates, the results show that:the most important inclusion on undergraduates in the scale of the life events is study pressure, followed by interpersonal pressure. I design the program according to the conclusion above. For a period of 8 weeks of group psychological training, undergraduates can learn knowledge of coping styles in a good and positive coping in place of an adverse,negative coping in a relaxed and sustaining atmosphere, and can be applied to practical life. The result of comparing the data between pretest and posttest indicate that the training is effective, that proving the hypothesis that the coping skills can be improved through the special training.
