Study On The Remains And Decorative Styles Of Folk Arts In Chen Chu Old Haunt

Huaiyang , located in southestern of Henan province was the central area of Chenchu Old Haunt ,where all kinds of folk art has been existing completely and preserved well and geographical features of them are still obvious.We make a profound analysis and study of Huaiyang Clay Dogs and Shenqiu Figure Buns of Gu Shi, the most typical representatives in Chen Chu old haunt. Through investigating the typical remains of"South White and North Black", combining the regional pattern characteristics with esthetic implication, we try to apply the secretive, deep, simple, festive, aloof style of decoration to modern art design, enrich the art education of our university and drive more people to pay attention to the remains of regional folk art.Although the tools used of folk art in Chenchu Old Haunt have improved, the fabrication technology and decorative style still keep its primitive character all the time as the history and techniques developed. Meanwhile, its sculpting, color and facture has condensed a kind of aesthetic taste which has obvious geographical feature and distinctive decorative style through continuous accumulation. Not only has it enriched the art languages of folk arts, but also created a strong local decorative style with its unique artistic forms. The main reason of its spreading and development is because the demand has been increasing these years. The development of science technology and the speeding up of life rhythm make the intercourse among people more purposely and the milk of human kindness more lacking. So we look forward to simplicity, outspoken art and relationships that are full of humanity more intensively than before. Therefore, Clay Dogs, Shenqiu Figure Buns of Gu Shi and the cloth tiger which is life-meaningful, mysterious and divertive have attracted more and more attention and the folk art frankness which embody the sincere feelings of human being naturally become a common pursuit goal of general public and artists. The artists in Chenchu Old Haunt convey their aspiration for life and the worship of god directly with tools gained easily. Whatever are clay dogs, Gu flower bun, or the cloth tiger, sugar paintings, all the folk art frankness, not only don't disappeared, but still keep their continued space along with the development of the times. Huaiyang Clay Dogs and Shenqiu Figure Buns of Gu Shi which were once the fairy of playthings in children's hands , now far exceed the value of their own and have been included in the non-material cultural heritage as the "Heritage". At the same time, they reveal people's expectations for breeding , blessing and praying ;thus demonstrates simple , full-bodied milk of human kindness and simple, random, imagist local decorative style.
