Mencius said, That whereby man differs from the lower animals isbut small. The mass of people cast it away, while superior men preserveit. Shun clearly understood the multitude of things, and closely observedthe relations of humanity. He walked along the path of benevolenceand righteousness; he did not need to pursue benevolence andrighteousness.Traditionally, the moral philosophy of Mencius view is moreconsistent and clear. Mencius philosophy established on the moralgoodness of a congenital and Learning was based on. The virtues likebenevolence; Mencius suppose the original minds should be the innergerminal moral thing. Consequent, for the understanding of the abovequotation also very clear, namely, Mencius by virtue lies within the heartof this, dividing the human from the beast, and the reason is differentfrom the kind of unique moral qualities. However, if we look to examinethis Mencius Debate on Human poultry exposition, you will find in thetraditional interpretation of its kind, the Council raises a question worthexploring. Obviously, Mencius for Learning was revealed, the key is thatinherent in the beast not to have "benevolence", which is different fromthe human. This situation makes the persons behavior cannot simplymotivated by instinct and utilitarian, but to ethics as a motivation. Todemonstrate this, Mencius used the "Debating human from breast",which is demonstrated by the innate human behavior with a moralfactor. This is also the starting point of this articles argument. I found onlyin the Mencius "benevolence" of the process of discernment werebeasts, but deliberately ignored, common sense and theoretical senseof a person to distinguish the important characteristics of beasts"intellectual", that is, human sense cognitive ability. Through the analysis of the background of Confucianism, we find that, for Mencius'opinion,:"intellectual" people distinguish between the ideological approach ofMohist should be strong accused, but in my opinion this dissatisfaction isthe logic there are some contradictions and problems. In addition, inthe ideological background of Confucius "benevolence" and"intellectual" status is on the same rank. But Mencius did not inherit thispractice,( Confucius suppose they are equal) in Mencius opinion, the"benevolence" of overstating the position to an unparalleled, not only intheory than "intellectual", but also as the "intellectual" in nature. Therefore, in the thesis I reveal the intelligent puzzle of Mencius moralphilosophy, on the other hand, there are some paradoxes between theconcept of human intelligence and the Mencius moral philosophysystem. The situation results in some problems that Mencius absolutelycannot solve. I analyze how these problems come up and how to beovercame.
